Life with Critical illness advance

Life with Critical Illness is an affordable hybrid coverage combining both life and critical illness insurance. An amount is payable in the first event of either a critical illness or death.

In case of death, a tax-free amount will be paid to the beneficiary chosen by the client. In case of critical illness, a portion of the life insurance amount is paid as a tax-free lump sum, with no survival period required. The life insurance amount is then reduced by this payment.

Features

By adding the Critical Illness Advance coverage to life insurance coverage, you will benefit from two permanent coverages grouped together into one contract.

Main Features

  • Hybrid products are rarely offered. A policy that pays at the first occurrence (of illness or death), offers a cost saving on the premium.
  • An advance of the life insurance amount is paid in case of critical illness. The life insurance amount is reduced by the critical illness benefits.
  • Critical Illness Advance covers 26 critical illnesses and surgeries, as well as 15 less severe diagnostics and treatments, giving the right to an advance of the insurance amount.
  • A payment in case of loss of independent existence, whether it be temporary or permanent
  • Unlike standard critical illness insurance coverage, no survival period is required.
  • Based on their insurance coverage, complimentary assistance services are available at any time for your clients and their loved ones:
    • They can use them when times are good, or when times are bad.
    • 24/7 phone assistance service is also available.

* The assistance services are not a contractual obligation of Desjardins Insurance.
